Meet Kelly Nie

NLP-Somatic Life Coach

Kelly lives in Portland, Oregon. A city surrounded by big trees, wild rivers and the beauty of Mother Nature. She lives with her beloved and bonus children, who are 9 and 11 years old. Like many of us, she is currently in a state of growing her community and making new connections with like-minded individuals. In the last three years, Kelly aimed an arrow straight at her dreams and hit bullseye. She left her job as the manager of a yoga studio to become a Life Coach with ALCN. After the program completed she started working with clients one on one and as a coach in the development of an online yoga teacher training platform.

Life coaching is about hosting space to help grow a person’s unique capability. Once Kelly began to trust in her gifts after being coached herself through ALCN's Conscious Change Coaching model, everything shifted in her life and she stepped into her calling. Today she has her own business that encompasses coaching, ceremonial work and movement as pillars in the process of conscious change. Her mission is to help you remember the sacred within yourself so you can come from a  place of freedom, curiosity and love.

Kelly’s style of coaching is both compassionate and bold. From her education as an NLP Somatic Life Coach, an E-RYT 500hr Yoga Leader and her degree in Psychology, she holds space for you to explore your most genuine desires. She will walk alongside you as a mirror to reflect back to you your highest self. Her training in Somatics and NLP gave her access to remember that the body holds the key. If you think of your body as an instrument: just as you tune the strings on a guitar, your mind and body deserve tuning as well. Kelly is here to help you shape your dreams into reality. She does this by helping you identify where you are off key and guides you to find harmony within.

As a body based practitioner, Kelly encourages you to sense, feel and imagine where in your body you feel safe - where in your body you feel fear - and from this identification - we heal - we re-wire - we fall back in love with ourselves again- and we reemerge. If you have longed to become someone or something, the first step is to remember who you are. Kelly will help you peel back the layers of yourself that have calloused over so you can feel what it’s like to begin again; not from a place of wounding but from a place of power, connection and expansion.

Kelly is here to help you remember the sacred within yourself.

Kelly coaches in English.

We asked Kelly about some of the shifts and changes in her own life since graduating from the program, her path to building her coaching business and how she has been using the Conscious Change model to support her clients in making transformational changes in their lives.

Q: Why did you choose ALCN's program and why were you interested in ALCN's model?

A: I chose ALCN’s program because it is based in neuroscience and on intuition. ALCN’s Conscious Change Model is very approachable and is laid out in a way that is easy to digest. Helen and her team have curated the ALCN programs in such a way that allows the content to be a global connection point for all people of all backgrounds. I was divinely guided to participate in the program from an invitation by Susan Fox, a Life Coach that co-facilitates with Helen for some of ALCN’s content. Susan encouraged me to look into the ACLN training after she had attended a program I had led. After being guided through a powerful NLP life coaching session with Susan, I knew this was the career path for me.

Q: What did you envision your coaching journey being like when you left the program? What changes did you make in your life?

A: I am so grateful for the experience that the ALCN Coaching Program gave me. When I enrolled in the training, I knew I wanted to be a coach. I knew I loved helping people transform as I had witnessed so many breakthroughs when I was helping lead yoga teacher trainings in my past. Committing to become a Somatic Coach was a natural step in my evolution. While enrolled in the ACLN training I envisioned myself coaching 1:1 clients and holding small group containers for people to discover their own authentic expression.

It is a blessing to say that I have created this and so much more. After I completed my certification, I really changed my relationship to receiving. Growing up I didn’t really know what it was like to be able to receive love effortlessly. It was as if to receive, I had to be something for someone else. When I realized I was living a lie, everything changed. And what I really wanted - to be free, curious and in love - became.

Q: How has the pandemic impacted your coaching business trajectory and how have you re-designed your life from that?

A: The pandemic allowed me to dive more deeply into what I was being asked to birth into existence. I was already working from home as a coach - as this was one of the goals I had set for myself during my coaching training, so my place of work was secure. This made space for me to really focus on my clients and at the same time be creative in my own endeavors. And among the seemingly chaotic time, I found peace. I really shifted my view on reality itself. I chose to live my life by design and make more time for myself, my beloved and our children. I put my attention on the most present things in my life that gave me joy and allowed these pieces of my life to fulfill me in all ways.

Q: What coaching tools or skills that you learned from the ALCN conscious change model have you found yourself using to support you during these changing times?

A: My favorite tool taught in the ALCN Conscious Change Model was how to build trust and intimacy with our clients. One of my fondest memories of the training was the first day. We chose partners and were asked to take a seat with one another. Helen then proceeded to ask us to ask permission of our partner to put our hand on our partner's shoulder or knee and ask them to follow our breath. It was kismet. And in that moment I knew I was in the perfect place. When we breathe together and when we use our breath as a tool for transformation, we truly learn to listen to our body. We tune into the answers that live inside all of us. We tune into our deepest longing. Coaching is about learning how to connect with others authentically and one of the best tools I use to build trust with clients is our breath. One of the best tools I use in my own personal practice is breath - it is the one thing of our autonomic nervous system we can truly have a relationship with. The breath is by far one of our greatest allies in the coaching world. Let’s begin here and see what is possible.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about being an Associate Coach?

A: Being asked to be an Associate Coach with ALCN’s Conscious Change Model is such a blessing. I am excited to support others in discovering their unique gifts and bringing them to life. I have been blessed to have mentors in my life that have shared their triumphs and joys with me in the most inspirational ways. I think it is nice to remember that we all start somewhere. I look forward to being of service and like, where I was once championed, support individuals in their personal coaching journey.
