Meet Rossana Magana Ruiz

NLP-Somatic Leadership Development Coach

For almost 30 years Rossana has worked with leaders, groups, families, teams and organizations supporting their growing and transformational processes, in more than 20 countries.

Rossana is sure that we, as human beings, have the potential, the resources and the possibility to dream and to make our dreams and visions come true.

When Rossana was in her twenties, she loved to participate in global conferences and was inspired by speakers like Victor Frank, Jeff Zeig and Robert Dilts. She saw their lives and realized that supporting people to become their best versions of themselves and live a happy and meaningful life was her mission too. Rossana also wanted to travel because she loves knowing and learning from different cultures. Rossana noticed at that time that she was potentially able to do it all but needed to develop many competences by practicing what she was learning, so just after college Rossana started to take trainings in Brief Therapy, Ericksoninan Hypnosis and NLP. While she was taking these trainings Rossana also started a private practice. Finally, 17 years ago Rossana took her first coach training in Guadalajara, México where she met ALCN Founder and Master Coach, Helen Attridge, who invited her to be a Teacher Assistant for ALCN's Summer Intensive Program. That was a very important experience for Rossana because she had the opportunity to support students learning processes; she networked with people all around the world and had the space to clarify her vision: Rossana wanted to have her own International Coaching Company with global and english speaking clients, living a meaningful life by the Chapala Lakeside and teaching coaching.

Now Rossana realizes that she is living the life she dreamed of and uses her own personal and professional experience to support clients and students to become their better version, make their dreams come true and have a happy and meaningful life. Obviously, the journey has not been easy. There have been many obstacles; hard, painful and difficult times. She could not have done it alone, of course:  being supported by her husband, family, friends, teachers, mentors, colleagues, clients and institutions who believed in her has been a blessing.

Rossana lives in Guadalajara, Mexico and coaches in Spanish, English and Italian.

We asked Rossana about some of the shifts and changes in her own life since graduating the program, her path to building her coaching business and how she has been using the Conscious Change model to support her clients make transformational changes in their lives.

Q: What did you envision your coaching journey being like when you left the program?

A: When I finished ALCN's summer program I just started my private Coaching practice in Guadalajara, México, where I am from, and envisioned having my own Coaching Company, working with clients from different places in the world. I really wanted to impact their lives sharing with them tools to generate a more balanced and meaningful life. I imagined buildings, offices and homes with smiley and happy people, working with passion, giving other people the possibility to enjoy more of their lives and creating professional and personal spaces where people would like to belong.

Q: What changes did you make in your life?

A: One of the first changes I made was to trust more in myself; to start being the change I wanted to see in the world by enjoying my own life, and sincerely commit myself to make that happen. I made defining decisions - in a period of three years I lost my grandma, my young niece, my sister and my dad, so I realized that life is the most important gift I have, that life is very short and there is no time to loose it. I started to focus on what is more important and valuable: I prioritized my health and wanted to enjoy every moment with my living family members, friends and clients; I focused on my dream: to live by the Chapala Lake site and serve and share with other people my life experiences.

Q: How did the pandemic impact your coaching business trajectory and how have you re-designed your life from that?

A: Before the pandemic I was working in a global project, teaching and giving live coaching sessions, workshops and lectures. When the pandemic started I was so fearful because all my workshops  were canceled and my clients had gone; I had a catastrophic image: I thought I will never ever have clients again. Then after a few weeks my clients came back and I learned from them how they adapted to the new condition, how they innovated and how they focused on solutions; I worked out my flexibility muscle, I realized that in this new condition I did not have to invest a lot of time traveling; I enjoyed my beautiful home and visited  very close friends and family. I volunteer as a Teaching Assistant with the Live Online ALCN coaching program: I learned how to use zoom and the Kajabi platform, and met new friends and colleagues. I can say that this pandemic has given me the opportunity to reinvent myself.

Q: What coaching tools or skills that you learned from the ALCN conscious change model have you found yourself using to support you during these changing times?

A: I am very grateful for Helen and ALCN because during the training I learned to generate a resourceful emotional state; to envision and stay connected to a powerful and attractive vision; to work constantly with my body, stretching, doing yoga and breathing; to trust in my superpowers and in a higher Power; to take risks and to be part of a global community giving and receiving support from each other; to utilize all the resources, situations and challenges to grow and become a better version of myself.
