We asked Sonia about some of the shifts and changes in her own life since graduating the program, her path to building her coaching business and how she has been using the Conscious Change model to support her clients make transformational changes in their lives.

Q: What did you envision your coaching journey being like when you left the program?

A: Even as I registered to join ALCN, my end vision was to hit the ground running as soon as I completed my certification. I wanted to incorporate my own company and start coaching right away without any time delays. My next goal was to simply coach, coach, coach and achieve my ICF certifications as soon as possible. I got my ACC certification within 9 months of graduating from ALCN and my PCC certification within a year of graduating. I am now focused on working towards my MCC. I estimate it will take me about 4-5 years to achieve that, if not sooner. :)

Q: What changes did you make in your life?

A: I began to listen more keenly, be more patient, found myself to be more reflective of my inner narratives and consciously shifted my responses to what I would like them to be. I found myself at peace, happier at heart, and so fulfilling as I coached and made positive impacts in my client’s lives.

I found myself understanding my strengths as a coach, where I could do better, and in the process, simply became a more liberated person as I broke free from the chains of my own beliefs, stories and desires. I continue to leave a mark with everyone I meet…because of how calm and at peace I am within, which is felt by all who spend time with me.

Q: How did the pandemic impacted your coaching business trajectory and how have you re-designed your life from that?

A: Knowing how much I enjoyed corporate life, my key niche was naturally towards business leaders, executives and C-suite leaders and entrepreneurs (You can’t not think of them while living in the Bay area). :)

However, when the pandemic hit, I shifted to opening up my doors to coach anyone and everyone who was ready and willing to be coached. I coached from 16 years to 75 years of age…from all walks of life, diverse cultures and definitely diverse topics. I found in me so much compassion and zeal to simply help.

The need to earn money in my new profession was buried deeply with my need to strongly help and make a huge positive impact in peoples’ lives globally. I recognized what my core anchor was and what I had to keep in mind as I continued amidst the turmoil pandemic has caused in our lives. It kept me centered and happy.

Q: What coaching tools or skills that you learned from the ALCN conscious change model have you found yourself using to support you during these changing times?

A: As I am someone who works off of energies, I truly sought refuge and help from the various NLP tools that support embodying change that ALCN had taught me.  To support with my own inner alignment I went for walks, used breathing techniques, yoga, pilates and strength training. Apart from these activities, the following tools also served me and my clients well during the pandemic:

  • Emotional State To Create Desired Outcomes
  • Embodying Different Styles to Access New Perspectives
  • Belief Change Processes
  • New Behavior Generator
  • NLP to Access Powerful States
  • Visualization
  • Accessing Powerful Mentors
  • Perceptual Positions
  • Stories We Tell Ourselves
  • 11 Assumptions of NLP

…to name a few!

The deep awareness and the amazing somatic NLP tools were my lifeline in keeping myself afloat during the crazy pandemic times. They are now part of my lifestyle today and no matter where I travel, I am empowered to use any of these to help myself and anyone around me who is in need of it.
